Daily Benefits Of Quitting Smoking: More Money In Your Pocket
Some people don't think about, or really care about the health benefits of quitting smoking. They
figure what the heck, you can't live forever, and I might as well enjoy myself and have a cigarette now and
then.
Well how about the money it cost you to smoke? Does that bother you at
all? It did me! It drove me nuts thinking I was putting out 250 a pack for cigarettes. Now
they're going up too darn near five dollars per pack. I can think of a lot of things to do with five
dollars. Five dollars a day over a month is $150. That's $150 that I could do something more productive
with. You might ask yourself, what would I do without money? I don't know, there's a lot of things you
can do with that money. Just decide what you would do, then make the move. Do it. You'll be glad
you did!
Tough Times Are Times Of Change
In tough times most people just reach for another cigarette. They think that
they calm your nerves. That's the furthest thing from the truth.
That's the worst thing you can do. Spend money on cigarettes that could be
paying bills, or buying food. Talk about creating stress. Now you have even less money to pay your
bills since you bought that carton of cigarettes.
Our economy is in rough shape. I don't care if your upper, middle, or poorer
class, the economy is affecting everyone. If quitting smoking has been on your to-do list for some time, now
is definitely the time to do it. Just think of the money you would save, that could be applied to other
areas in your life.
Get A Cigarette Piggy Bank
When you get that daily benefit of quitting smoking and you save up more money
than you have in a long time, even if you lose your job or your home, you’ll have that money you normally would
have spent on cigarettes as a cushion to help you through that tough time. That’s called smart thinking but it’s
also healthy because you quit that nasty, and very unhealthy habit.
Set yourself up a cigarette piggybank. Put it on top of your refrigerator,
and every day, rather than buying a pack of cigarettes, put that cigarette money in your cigarette piggy
bank.
You will be surprised how quickly it adds up. In fact, it will blow you
away. Make it a clear jar, or something you can see every time you walk by it. It will help to
reinforce your new life without cigarettes. When you see that cash adding up, start thinking about what you
want to spend it on. Decide on something. A night out on the town, new clothes, or if you were really a
heavy smoker, you may be setting your sights on a new car. Whatever your goal is keep it in the front of your
mind, walk by that cash your everyday, and think about what that cash will do for you.
This is really an excellent quit smoking aid. I know many people that have
done this. It really helps to watch that cash build.
