Money And Feeling Better Are Just Two of the Benefits of Quitting Smoking Now

Many people fail to quit smoking because they just don't realize how great the benefits are the quitting smoking now.  The benefits of quitting smoking are both short-term and long-term.  Right away you start to feel better and save money.  Long-term, you will feel great and save a lot of money.  Just add up in your head the cost of just the cigarettes alone.  I know I've spent $100-$150 a month, just on the cigarettes alone.  Not to mention, burned clothing.  That one really burns me up.  How many clothes have you burnt?  How much do you spend a month?  It's ridiculous.  When you think about how ridiculous it really is, you have to say to yourself, why do I do this?  The answer is easy, you have a cigarette smoking addiction.  You are addicted to the nicotine.  Because otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

Show Me The Money

I wish somebody could show me the money that I've spent on cigarettes in my lifetime.  I'm dating myself now, but I remember when cigarettes were $.15 a pack.  I heard they were going up to $.25 a pack.  I told my friends if they go up to $.25 on quitting for sure.  Well needless to say that went by the wayside.  I wrote that horse all the way up to $2.50 a pack, before I finally got off the merry-go-round.  I understand today they are $3.50 a pack and going up by $.70 per pack!  What's your magic number?  Are you there yet? 

Let's do the math, if cigarettes go to for 20 pack and you smoke a carton in a week, that's 42 bucks, that's $168 a month.  What could you do with that 168?  Here's what you should do.  You should find something you would like to have that would cost you 168 a month.  Then weigh the two out, cigarette smoking, all or what you've decided on.

 

Let's Start Feeling Better

Do you put water in the gas tank of your car?  Do you mix turpentine with your motor oil?  I haven't met anybody yet it does any of those things.  The point I'm making though, is why do we treat our car better than we treat our body?

We simply wouldn't do those things because they would do harm to our car.  Yet when we smoke, we inhale unhealthy chemicals, that are destroying our body.  Would you give your car or a cigarette if you thought it could hurt it?  Heck no, you wouldn't do that.  Then why do you do it to yourself?  Start thinking about that.  Make a decision today to stop harming your motor.  After all you are the mechanic that takes care of your body.  And if you take care of it properly you'll start feeling better ride away.
